CAPMH301: Material and Hand Tools


This module describes knowledge and skills required to use wood working materials and hand tools. It describes the skills, knowledge and attitudes required for the trainee to identify classes of timbers and use hand tools.


WOTTD 301: TECHNICAL DRAWING AND COST ESTIMATION

This module describes employable and practicable skills, knowledge and right attitudes required by the student to apply basic drawing techniques, interpret technical drawing, prepare and calculate cost estimation. It is designed for students pursuing TVET certificate III in wood technology. Graduates at this level will have knowledge and skills for initial work, community involvement and/or further learning.

WOTWF302: Wooden Furniture and Furnishing Elements

This module describes employable and practicable skills; knowledge and right attitudes required by the student to interpret furniture and furnishing elements drawings, select tools, equipment and materials for furniture, prepare materials for furniture and perform webbing and foaming for upholstered furniture. It is designed for students pursuing TVET certificate III in wood technology. Graduates at this level will have knowledge and skills for initial work, community involvement and/or further learning.



CAPCJ301: Joints construction

This module describes knowledge and skills required to construct joints. It describes the skills, knowledge and attitudes required for the trainee to construct lengthening joints, construct widening joints and construct framing joints.

WOTMH301 : Wood working machine operation and hand tools use

This module describes the knowledge and skills required to operate a woodworking machine. It describes the skills, knowledge and attitudes required for the trainee to operate portable power machines and operate heavy-duty woodworking machines.

WOTFF 301:Wooden furniture finishing

This module describes employable and practicable skills, knowledge and right attitudes required by the student to describe wood finishing products, conduct pre-finishing activities, perform wood finishing, finish upholstered wooden furniture and finally refinish furniture. The contents provided in this course are packages reserved for a student pursuing TVET certificate III in wood technology. Graduates at this level will have knowledge and skills for initial work, community involvement and/or further learning.
